Viewcation aims to answer one crucial question that might be swimming around your inquisitive mind right about now. What’s a decent restaurant to go to in Austin, Texas?
Austin is well known for having some of the finest eateries in the nation. Sure New York, Chicago, and LA are well-known for their exquisite eats, but the city that loves to ‘Keep it Weird’ also knows how to dish out some seriously tasty grub. There are countless food trucks, diners, dives, as well as all sorts of different classier establishments to chose from in the Bat City. But not all of these offerings are created equal. And a few palette-pleasing restaurants clearly outshine the rest.
Even so, it might seem like a daunting task to sift through all of the run-of-the-mill dining establishments just to find the cream of the crop. That’s why we’ve done all of the hard work and investigating for you so you can get down to business and do what you do best – that is, chow down on some delectable, mouth-watering, tasty goodness. Keep watching to see what we think are the best restaurants and food trucks that the great city of Austin has to offer.
Julie’s Noodles
This Chinese cuisine food truck turned North Austin restaurant is brought to you by chef Julie Hong, and she is dishing out the most wonderfully thick, chewy, and mesmerizing noodle dishes. Julie’s noodle soups are just what the doctor ordered on colder days or when you need a little pick-me-up. The lamb stew is especially pleasing. To liven up your dining experience, add an order of their soup dumplings – which in our humble opinion are some of the best you can get in all of Austin. Julie’s is open for dine-in or take-out orders which you can place online.
Slab BBQ & Beer
Featuring burly BBQ sandwiches that are out of this world, this casual eatery owned by restaurateur Raf Robinson has what you carnivores out there crave. Their mind-bogglingly tasty offerings range from the Notorious P.I.G, with tender pulled pork and mustard slaw, to the unforgettable B.C.B.C, stuffed with smokey brisket and chicken breast.
Slab BBQ is a place where the vibrant, smoky sauces are just as crucial of ingredients as the smoked meats that they accentuate. If you’re craving something other than a sandwich, they’ve got standards like pork ribs, BBQ rice bowls, nachos, and all sorts of mouth-watering sides such as their downright decadent brisket-studded mac and cheese. Are you hungry yet? If so, you can place an order with Slab BBQ for pick-up or delivery online or over the phone. They’ve also recently re-opened for indoor or patio dining service.
