With the four wheel drive tour, you get taken off-road deep into the glowing red-rock landscape. It’s truly a fantastic way to witness the stunning scenery that you simply wouldn’t be able to easily access in any other way. This is an absolute must for any first-time visitor.
Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village
At number three, the Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village is not simply a tourist attraction, but a wonderful oasis of serenity. It’s certainly worth spending a few hours of your time here to truly enjoy it. Tlaquepaque has been a landmark of Sedona since the 1970s and is known as the most distinctive shopping experience in the Southwest. Strolling through this place with its cobblestone walkways, stucco walls and stunning architecture will make you feel like you’re in another country all together.
Chapel of the Holy Cross

Boynton Canyon
At number eight is one of the best vortex sites in all of Sedona, Boynton Canyon. Boynton Canyon Vortex is half a mile from the Boynton Canyon parking area and easy to get to. This easy access and the fact that you can actually reach out and touch it is what makes it so special. While the hike to the vortex is intermediate due to some uphill climbing, it can still be done with young kids which makes it a great trip for all the family to enjoy. Devil’s Bridge Trail
At number eleven, Devil’s Bridge Trail. Devil’s Bridge Trail is one of the best hikes in Sedona and Devil’s Bridge is the largest natural sandstone arch in the Sedona area. While it’s a four mile round trip hike to the natural bridge itself, it’s worth every step. The hike is very manageable for someone in decent shape. Once you approach the climb to the bridge, that’s when the real adventure begins, with some very steep stairs and a bit of a climb that’ll get you on all fours. While there aren’t any guard rails, don’t be alarmed. The surface of the bridge is large enough to feel safe. With the length of the hike and the scorching heat, remember to bring enough water. Pack an extra bottle more than what you think. Trust us, you’ll be glad you did.
Oak Creek Canyon
Oak Creek Canyon is at number twelve on our list. Here you’ll discover some of the best views that Sedona has to offer. Unlike many of the others on this list, Oak Canyon Creek doesn’t require a hike in order to appreciate its epic scenery. Driving the State Route 89A, between Sedona and Oak Creek Vista will give you all the views you could hope for, including viewpoints and lookout areas of the entire landscape. It is without a doubt one of the most scenic drives in the United States and a must-do if you’re anywhere near Sedona. Just remember to give yourself enough time to stop, enjoy the views and snap a few photographs.
Slide Rock State Park
Number thirteen on our list of the top fourteen things to do in Sedona, Arizona is Slide Rock State Park. Slide Rock State Park, found along the scenic Oak Creek is a great place to bring
the family. With natural water slides, easy hikes and rocks to jump off, this park is crammed with all kinds of fun. Slide Rock State Park earned its name from the water that ran through the rocks and made areas very smooth and slippery. Essentially, they have become natural water slides. While it’s a great place to cool off, the crystal-clear water can get very cold. So if you plan to go swimming, it’s best to visit during the warmest months. The two cliff jumps are a great way to get the adrenaline pumping. If you’re not one for action and adventure, no problem, bring a chair and enjoy the sights. You can even hike along the river while enjoying the natural beauty that’s on offer.
Crescent Moon, Red Rock Crossing
Last, but certainly not least on our list at number fourteen is Crescent Moon and Red Rock Crossing. For those that want to avoid the crowds at Slide Rock State Park, this spot is perfect with many unique swimming holes scattered around the land. The water is a bit warmer than at Slide Rock and there’s also shady areas for when the heat becomes a bit too much. The location is even more grand with a view of the gorgeous Cathedral Rock in the distance. For some extra stunning photos, hang around until sunset, it’s absolutely stunning.
