Given it’s location along the Jersey Shore, it should come as no surprise that a big part of Ocean City’s popularity comes from it’s variety of beautiful beaches. There are numerous beaches available to tourists visiting Ocean City, with one of the most popular being the aptly named Ocean City Beach.

While Ocean City Beach may draw most of the crowds, it’s far from being the only beach available to those visiting Ocean City, New Jersey. There’s also Peck Beach, which is colloquially referred to as Great Egg Harbor Bay. Both of these beaches are fantastic and relaxing places to visit. Of course, one of the most popular things for tourists to do on these beautiful beaches is to simply lay a towel out and relax. However, there are also plenty of activities to take part in, and plenty of eateries to try out.

Venturing out onto the water is a popular pastime for both tourists and locals within Ocean City, and both of the aforementioned beaches are perfect locations to try your hand at some of the region’s popular watersports. Some of the many popular watersports around the area include kayaking and paddleboarding, as well as general sailing.

Kayaking and paddleboarding are fairly easy for visiting tourists to get into, as paddleboards and kayaks can be rented from multiple venues around Ocean City. Sailboats can also be rented, but they cost a bit more!

Go Walking Along the Ocean City Boardwalk

Sprawling alongside the aforementioned Ocean City Beach in New Jersey is the Ocean City Boardwalk, which grants plenty of options for things to do to visiting tourists. Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Fudge has been around since the end of the 19th century, and it still stands as one of the most popular businesses in the city with both locals and tourists alike. Of course, the popularity of Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Fudge comes from it’s namesake candies, and visitors to Ocean City won’t want to miss out on the chance to try out these incredible sweet treats for themselves!

Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Fudge features nearly 50 different varieties of salt-water taffy, with salt-water taffy being the business’s most sought-after candy. While taffy may be Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Fudge’s bestseller, it’s far from being the only candy that the longstanding business sells to the public. Visitors will also get the chance to try out such treats as macarons, mint rolls, and ice cream.

Play the Day Away at Playland’s Castaway Cove

If venturing to Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy and Fudge wasn’t enough to make you feel like you were a child again, you might need to try out spending a day at Playland’s Castaway Cove. Playland’s Castaway Cove is an amusement park located along the aforementioned Ocean City Boardwalk, and it is considered to be one of that boardwalk’s preeminent attractions thanks to it’s numerous classically styled rides.

Some of the many old-fashioned rides that visitors will get the chance to ride include it’s merry-go-round and wooden coaster, as well as spinning and twirling rides of all sorts. There are also go-karts available for visitors to ride, adding to Playland’s Castaway Cove plentiful offerings. If you’re looking for a great boardwalk amusement park, Playland’s Castaway Cove is the epitome of what you’d hope for.

One might have assumed up until this point that all Ocean City, New Jersey, has to offer is fun and games. While that may be true for the most part, those looking to get a deeper understanding of the area and it’s cultural and historical significance will find the opportunity to do so while visiting the Ocean City Historical Museum. As it’s name suggests, the museum chronicles the history of Ocean City, with artifacts dating back to the time the city was first established in the late 1800s. Visitors will be surprised to learn about just what an interesting and rich history the region has. Exhibits will tell visitors many stories from Ocean City’s long history, with some of the many interesting stories including those of the numerous shipwrecks that have occurred along the city’s shore, as well as some of it’s more famous entrepreneurs.

Get Scared While Golfing at Haunted Golf

Another popular location along the aforementioned Ocean City Boardwalk is Haunted Golf. Haunted Golf offers miniature golf to visitors, but with haunted-house theming. While this might sound a bit cheesy, it’s all in good fun and stands firmly in line with the kind of carnival-esque thrills that one would expect to find along a New Jersey boardwalk.

Though the concept of Haunted Golf may sound a bit corny, the location goes all out when it comes to providing it’s guest with thrills. Some of the numerous animatronics and effects along the venue’s miniature-golf course can actually provide quite a fright, or, at least, a memorable jump scare!

Go Get Wet at OC Waterpark

If you’re looking for an incredible waterpark in Ocean City, New Jersey, OC Waterpark is arguably the best of the best. The waterpark features numerous thrilling rides that are sure to please thrill seekers, as well as more relaxing and traditional rides that will suit guests of all ages. Adults can toil away the day cruising along the park’s lazy river, while little ones will find plenty to do at Lil Buc’s Bay, which consists of a water playground with pirate theming.

One of the best places to get a taste of this natural beauty is Corson’s Inlet State Park, which is a state park that was established in 1969. This state park status makes Corson’s Inlet State Park one of the more unblemished areas of New Jersey, and it’s a perfect place for tourists to get in touch with the state’s wilderness.

Though Corson’s Inlet State Park is significantly lacking in carnival attractions, the state park more than makes up for it in terms of it’s beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere. The land itself is beautiful, but another big thing drawing tourists to the area is the stunning array of wildlife. Corson’s Inlet State Park is a particularly fine location to go bird watching, and you might see an American Oystercatcher.
