Few locations within the resort town of Ocean City are more popular with tourists than the Ocean City Boardwalk, and the boardwalk’s popularity comes for great reason! The boardwalk is populated with plenty of shops and eateries, as well as some endlessly entertaining attractions. Whether you’re looking to shop, get a bite to eat, or simply find an interesting and leisurely activity, the Ocean City Boardwalk has you covered. The boardwalk was built in the early 20th century, and still stands today as one of the preeminent places for both locals and visiting tourists within the resort town of Ocean City to spend a fun day or night.
One of the more popular attractions that can be found along the Ocean City Boardwalk is Ripley’s Believe It or Not!, which is a museum filled with strange artifacts and oddities just like the kind you’d find in the popular book series. If you’re interested in seeing some strange stuff and don’t mind if things get a bit morbid, this museum is certainly worth checking out. Some of the many interesting things on display include rare animal skeletons and shrunken human heads.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! stands out from other locations along the Ocean City Boardwalk thank to the unique design of it’s building, which features a giant, animated model shark in front of it. Besides rare animal skeletons and shrunken human heads, guests will also get the opportunity to see plenty of strange art, as well as a few torture devices! The museum also houses a few fun games, including the Impossible Laser Race and the Marvelous Mirror Maze.
The Ocean City Boardwalk is also home to a popular amusement park by the name of Trimper Rides of Ocean City. The amusement park has been standing since the end of the 19th century, which means that it’s slightly older than the boardwalk itself! The charming and historical atmosphere of the amusement park only adds to the fun that tourists can have while visiting, though the true draw of Trimper Rides of Ocean City is inarguably it’s surplus of thrilling rides.
Trimper Rides of Ocean City doesn’t skimp when it comes to it’s rides, and there are over 100 different rides within the amusement park for visitors to check out. These rides range from little ones that are good for small kids to more thrilling ones that you’ve got to be a bit older to ride. There’s also a haunted house, an arcade, and a giant Ferris wheel that grants it’s riders some of the most incredible views around.
While Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and Trimper Rides of Ocean City represent two of the most popular attractions that can be found along the Ocean City Boardwalk, they’re far from the only ones! Given that the boardwalk has been standing for well over 100 years, it’s also got some historical importance.
Head Out to the Ocean City Beach
The Ocean City Boardwalk would be nothing without the Ocean City Beach, which is a 10-mile-long public beach that runs alongside it. Ocean City Beach stands along the eastern coast of Ocean City’s island location, and it’s an incredibly popular place with both locals and tourists.
Whether you’re looking to relax on the beach and soak in the atmosphere or go out into the water, Ocean City Beach features plenty to do for visitors. Visit Assateague Island National Seashore
While the Ocean City Boardwalk and the Ocean City Beach certainly represent two of the most popular tourist destinations in the resort town of Ocean City, those looking for some peace and quiet while visiting the region may want to head over to Assateague Island National Seashore. Assateague Island National Seashore is a protected area on a barrier island that stretches farther than the eye can see!
The Assateague Island National Seashore offers plenty of diverse natural landscapes, including beaches, marshland, dunes, and a forest area. There’s also plenty of wildlife in the area, with visitors being given the chance to see such things as wild Chincoteague ponies, and maybe even a bald eagle. The area spans 40 miles, and there’s plenty of hiking! There’s also a campground with around 150 campsites.
If you’re looking to get a taste of Ocean City’s wilderness, camping at the Assateague Island National Seashore is certainly the way to go! There are also great fishing and swimming opportunities, not to mention beaches for bathing in the sun. The protected land of the Assateague Island National Seashore is some of the most peaceful out there.

Visit Sun Outdoors Frontier Town Western Theme Park
Trimper Rides of Ocean City is just one of numerous amusement parks open to tourists visiting the resort town of Ocean City. Another popular amusement park within the area goes by the name of Sun Outdoors Frontier Town Western Theme Park, and it has a unique Wild West theme to it! The park is located only a short distance from Ocean City’s downtown area, but you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another time and place entirely. Some of the many family-friendly activities that tourists can engage in while visiting the park include gold panning and pony rides.
The best part of Sun Outdoors Frontier Town Western Theme Park is inarguably it’s theming, as the amusement park goes all out to ensure that visitors truly feel as if they’re in the Wild West. There are multiple costumed workers dressed as cowboys and Native Americans. There are also several shows put on throughout the day, including some thrillingly staged shootouts! Sun Outdoors Frontier Town Western Theme Park allows tourists to camp overnight and get the most immersive experience possible, and there’s also a waterpark and ziplines for visiting thrill seekers.
Visit Either Location of Jolly Roger Amusement Park
Jolly Roger Amusement Park is yet another notable amusement park operating within the resort town of Ocean City. Jolly Roger Amusement Park features two distinct locations, with one being located along the aforementioned Ocean City Boardwalk and a slightly bigger one being located within Ocean City’s downtown section. Due to it’s slightly increased size, the Jolly Roger Amusement Park located within Ocean City’s downtown section is arguably the more popular of the two, though both offer plenty of thrills!
The two Jolly Roger Amusement Park locations are referred to as Jolly Roger at the Pier and Jolly Roger at 30th St. While Jolly Roger at 30th St. is the slightly larger and more popular of the two, each location features a few things that the other doesn’t have. For Jolly Roger at the Pier, it’s unique attractions include it’s old-style carousel and it’s Ferris wheel. Meanwhile, some of the things that Jolly Roger at 30th St. boasts that it’s boardwalk-located cousin doesn’t include a miniature-golf course, go karts, and it’s own waterpark.
Cast Your Line at the Oceanic Fishing Pier
There are plenty of incredible fishing opportunities granted to tourists visiting the resort town of Ocean City, and the Oceanic Fishing Pier inarguably offers one of the most unique. The long, wooden pier spans out into the Atlantic Ocean and features fishermen of all skill levels casting lines out over it’s sides. The Oceanic Fishing Pier can be found along the southern end of Ocean City’s island location, and anyone who enjoys fishing will certainly want to try their hand at casting their line out from this incredible pier! Fishermen will get the chance to catch flounder, rockfish, and crabs. The pier also offers a pretty nice view of the city itself.
Go Shopping at the Outlets Ocean City
Though there are plenty of shopping opportunities to be found along the Ocean City Boardwalk, nothing quite beats the Outlets Ocean City for visiting tourists looking to throw down some money. There are numerous name-brand outlet stores in this large shopping center. There are also some great places to grab a bite to eat, whether you’re looking for something quick and casual or something a bit more fancy.
Take a Stroll Through Northside Park
The last amazing Ocean City attraction that we’ll be taking a look at in this video is the gorgeous Northside Park, which offers plenty of outdoors fun to both tourists and locals. This beautiful park is the perfect place to spend a leisurely day, and there’s something to enjoy for visitors of all ages! There are numerous picnic areas and a few playgrounds, as well as a couple of playing fields where the locals play ball.
Another notable aspect of Northside Park includes the large fishing lagoon that can be found at it’s center. This lagoon features two piers, and it’s plenty of fun to walk or jog around! Northside Park also happens to be a popular place for local events to be held, which means that there’s always something impressive going on throughout the year. During Christmastime, the whole park is decked out with lights.
