Carol Ann’s Carousel
A visit to Carol Ann’s Carousel is one of the best things to do in Cincinnati, Ohio. This unique attraction is located in the heart of downtown Cincinnati at Sawyer Point and was a gift from the Carol Ann & Ralph V. Haile Jr Foundation. It features amazing artwork by Jonathan Queen with panels depicting Cincinnati-centric animal characters playing in Cincinnati’s numerous parks.
The carousel can be found at 8 East Mehring Way, right across the street from the newly opened P&G GoVibrant Playscape next to the Roebling Bridge. A ride will cost you just $2, with discounted rates available for multi-ride packages.
The carousel is open from 11am to 4pm Thursday through Sunday during the spring and summer months, and 11am to 4pm Friday through Sunday during the fall and winter months.
Cincinnati Reds

Jungle Jim’s International Market
Located in Fairfield, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati just over 25 miles north of downtown, Jungle Jim’s is one of the largest – and most eccentric – grocery stores in the world. In recent years, the store has branched out with a second satellite location in Cincinnati’s Eastgate burrough, but tn order to get the full experience, you HAVE to check out the original.
Now you may be wondering why we’re putting a grocery store on our list of best things to do in Cincy, but this is no ordinary grocery store. Founded by Jim Bonaminio orginally as a roadside produce stand in nearby Hamilton, Ohio, in 1971, Jim opened his first 4200-square-foot store in 1975. Since then, Jim has continued to expand his store, while adding products at customer’s request.
Pretty much, if you can’t find it at Jungle Jims, it just might not exist. The store, which is reminiscent of a theme park, features animatronics, colorful displays, cooking classes, wine tasting sessions, and food and other products from all over the world.
The store is divided up into various international areas and many of the foods found in the store’s European and Asian departments are difficult to find anywhere outside of the Greater Cincinnati area.
Jungle Jims also offers one of the largest wine selections in the country, a produce section where you’ll find fruits and veggies you’ve probably never heard of, and an event center that hosts several yearly events including the International Wine Festival, the Big Cheese Festival, and the International Craft Beer Festival.
Simply put, Jungle Jims is a place that you need to experience first-hand to really get an idea of what makes it so special. Words alone can’t fully articulate just how incredible this place is, but if you stop on by to pay a visit, you won’t be dissapointed.
Findlay Market
If you’re in Cincinnati, be sure to check out Findlay Market! It’s one of the best things to do in the city. Kings Island
